About Thomas

Thomas de Bernède is a French, half-British and 10% Sicilian magician and mentalist who has been on a mission to perform in every country in the world for the last 20 years. He got his first paid show at the age of 12 and now performs for events worldwide. His performance countries include Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, the UAE, USA, France, UK, Switzerland, Italy, Greece and Germany.

Thomas is based between Europe and Asia and performs worldwide. Depending on the seasons, he splits his time between different locations, maintaining the flexibility to perform internationally throughout the year.

Thomas performs mainly in French, English and Spanish, with a little Italian. Because he has travelled to so many countries and performed across every continent, he connects with audiences beyond language. Magic is an international art form, and Thomas’s magic goes beyond words — he once performed a full show for a Russian-speaking audience and a Japanese audience, neither of whom spoke English.

Thomas is a master magician and master mentalist who performs without large props or assistance. He refined his performances in comedy clubs and theatres around the world, including touring Edinburgh. He started performing in the streets at age 12 and brings everything he needs in a single suitcase. His act is minimal, sophisticated and infinitely adaptable.

Performances

Although Thomas is well known in the wedding industry, he’s called for all types of celebrations: destination weddings, corporate galas, product launches, brand activations, private dinners, milestone birthdays, anniversaries and festivals. His act adapts to each performance — from an intimate dinner for 4 people to events with 2,000 guests.

Thomas moves fluidly between magic, sleight of hand, card work and mentalism depending on the atmosphere of the event and language barriers. After travelling to many countries, he realised that different nationalities and guest types respond to different styles — some prefer visual magic and sleight of hand, while others are captivated by mind-reading, mentalism and influence.

Both — and Thomas strongly recommends the full package to maximise impact. During stage time there is a lot of humour and uncontrollable laughter that brings people together and creates connections between guests. Then he’ll roam the event, mingling and performing close-up magic. Most guests think he’s the owner of the venue — he’s just another guest, here to entertain them.

Booking

For destination and peak-season weddings, booking 6–12 months in advance is highly recommended. For corporate and private events, 2–3 months is usually sufficient. That said, last-minute requests are always welcome, depending on his availability.

Pricing

The fee depends on several factors: the date, location, number of guests, length of performance and level of customisation. Each event is unique, so Thomas creates a custom proposal after your discovery call.
